Can I become a citizen of Austria or Germany?
After 6 years of legal residence, you can apply for Austrian citizenship, and after 5 years in the case of Germany. This benefit is available to those who migrate with an employment contract as a health professional and meet the immigration requirements.

Yes. Once you are legally working in the destination country, your minor children and your husband/wife can move with you through the family reunification process.

What should I take into account?
1. The destination countries have four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. During winter, there are low temperatures and fewer hours of sunlight, which may require a period of adaptation.
2. The cultures in Germany and Austria are different from Latin American cultures. Therefore, you will receive cultural integration courses before traveling. For example, punctuality is essential in both social and professional settings. There is greater interpersonal distance, rules are strictly followed, and communication is direct and structured, including criticism. In contrast, in Latin America a more indirect and contextual style is usually preferred.
3. Caring for the elderly is an important part of nurses' work. While in Latin America this responsibility mostly falls on the family, in Germany and Austria there are specialized public services where nursing professionals play a key role.
